Rupanyup Major Events (RME) was founded in 1995 by its next generation farming community as an opportunity to raise funds to support local projects whilst engaging in social events that encourage connectivity and support within the agricultural community of Western Victoria.
Over the last 15 years the RME has raised over $250,000 to support local projects and infrastructure.
Annually it hosts events such as:-
* Australia Day Breakfast for 250 people
* Wimmera Grain Co. Rupanuyp Barley Banquet

Dress Black Tie
The Wimmera Grain Co. Barley Banquet represents agriculture, lifestyles and communities of rural Australia. The banquet also showcases locally grown produce on its three course menu - lentils chickpeas, lamb, duck, malting barlely and wine.
This black tie event is set in the heart of the Wimmera's cropping region. Each year the committee seek a new barley paddock from a local farmers crop to create a desitination that surprises and and heightens excitment annually.
With great music and entertainment the event attracts a broad audience from Melbourne and regional Victoria.
The event is a great day with fantastic atmosphere and fun to had by all.
In 2009,Channel 7 Reporter Nick McCallum visited the Barley Banquet. This reel was broadcasted that Saturday evening and on Monday's "Sunrise" program.
